Goku now has a son named Gohan, and lives a quiet life after defeating Piccolo, until a mysterious man emerges from space, his name is Raditz, and claims to be Goku's brother, and that they are from a powerful race called the "Saiyan", a race of warriors who dominate planets. Raditz knocks down Goku and takes Gohan with him. Now Goku must join forces with his worst enemy and go in search of Raditz. They fight and Goku ends up sacrificing himself to kill Raditz, and in his last breath Raditz reveals to Piccolo that 2 Saiyans more powerful than him would arrive on Earth within a year, and these Saiyans named Vegeta and Nappa, would bring destruction to his planet...
